When my son was born, everything changed. I knew I had to break free from the last 15 years of corporate grind and create a business that allowed me to build a life on my own terms. Fueled by determination and the love for my family, I set out on a journey to turn my dream into reality.
Motherhood reignited a drive in me that had been there since childhood. As a competitive gymnast, I spent countless afternoons training, developing discipline and a relentless work ethic. Outside the gym, my love for skiing instilled in me by my father at a young age and the desire to escape the flat lands of Tennessee to explore the outdoors fueled my passion for pushing limits and appreciating nature’s beauty. This connection to the environment inspired me to head west to study environmental science in Boulder, Colorado, before moving to San Francisco to begin my career.
Growing up, my uncle and grandfather were passionate about building houses and creating artfully curated spaces, something I feel sparked my curiosity for real estate. Despite that early interest, I chose a different path. I worked at the design center in San Francisco helping designers and architects curate their clients spaces, then joined Pottery Barn as a buyer, where I combined my love of design with business analytics. In that role, I curated furniture and accessories collections based off of intensive research of current market trends, collaborated with vendors in the U.S. and Asia to bring them to life, and performed detailed data analysis to track sales performance.
For 11 years, I thrived in that environment, until surgery required me to take medical leave. That unexpected pause gave me a chance to reevaluate my life in San Francisco, which had become predictable and had taken me far away from my family. Seeking a fresh start, I moved to Denver, where my sister lived, and found a new sense of belonging.
Denver felt like home. Being close to family and the mountains aligned perfectly with my outdoor spirit. I took a job back in corporate retail managing the private label clothing brands for a big box retailer, settling into a steady life with a job, a romantic relationship, and family nearby.
But life doesn’t always follow a steady path. I was expecting my son, Connor, and with his arrival approaching, the corporate grind felt increasingly unfulfilling. My long-standing interest in real estate resurfaced. After 15 years, the idea of becoming a REALTOR® still excited me, and I felt ready to apply my background in sales, analytics, and design to this new venture. But juggling a family, a full-time corporate job and trying to study for night school proved to be too much me while simultaneously navigating the path as a first-time mom.
Then, the unexpected happened: the company I worked for went bankrupt. It was just the push I needed. The company closed on a Friday, and by Monday, I had enrolled in real estate training. The transition was challenging, especially as I navigated now being a single mother with full responsibility for my son. The stakes couldn’t have been higher—I was determined to make this work for both of us.
I leaned on my brokerage for support, and they became like a family to me. They provided training, guidance, and encouragement as I built my business from scratch. Hosting countless open houses then transitioning to selling homes in a condominium community was where I began my real estate career, gaining invaluable experience and eventually a steadier income that helped me support Connor and grow professionally. Looking back, I’m proud of how I turned a daunting challenge into a thriving business.
Along the way, I found love again. A mutual friend introduced me to Jake, who, like me, had lived in San Francisco. Though we had visited all the same places and attended the same events, our paths never crossed until Denver. Our connection was instant, and today, he’s my husband. We cherish family ski trips, weekends spent at Connor’s sports games, and our shared passion for art and live music.
My passion for helping people extends beyond real estate. I volunteer through Connor’s school, packing lunches for the homeless and helping others in need while also supporting numerous other non-profits like Wish for Wheels, an organization that gifts bikes to children, Project Angel Heart or Food Bank of the Rockies to name a few.
Looking back, my non-linear journey to real estate brought together my passions for design, data analytics, and helping others. Motherhood was the catalyst that set me on this path, and today, I feel grateful to have created a business and a life that I love.
My clients often become like family thanks to my personal approach to business. Buying or selling a home can be stressful, which is why I strive to make the process as seamless and stress-free as possible. I understand the weight of real estate decisions—smart investments can build generational wealth, while impulsive choices can lead to unnecessary challenges. Because the stakes are high, my competitive nature drives me to deliver exceptional results and provide top-notch advice.
With a background in design, I excel at seeing a property’s potential. Whether it’s reimagining a furniture layout or suggesting functional modifications, I help clients visualize how a space can work for their needs. Years of analyzing sales performance have sharpened my ability to price properties with precision—not too high, not too low, but just right. Accurate pricing is essential, and I conduct a thorough analysis of the data to ensure every decision is backed by insight.
No matter who I work with, I bring expertise, determination, and a personal touch to help my clients achieve their dreams.
Sincerely,

Kara Wetherill
